Medan's cai bao (菜包) is soft and chewy. Uniqueness of Medan's cai bao is its soft skin, which is made from sweet potatoes (soon kueh's skin is made of rice and tapioca). The filling contains various veggies and dried shrimp (hebi, 虾米) to give its fragrance.
Please keep it frozen. Steam >15 mins in medium heat until the skin gets soft and tender.
